GLISTEN GREATER CINCINNATI STUDENT COUNCIL

We are looking for 10-15 compassionate, driven youth who are passionate about fostering safer school environments and improving opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth. Members of our council will meet to discuss ways to connect and improve the lives of other LGBTQ+ youth in the area, such as hosting events that provide gender-affirming care and expression opportunities, designing school initiatives, and organizing a youth-centered space for Cincinnati Pride. The application is open to all LGBTQ+ youth in ages 14+ who live in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern KY area, and all council members will receive a monthly stipend for their service.

Youth Summit: Programs

Key Responsibilities

Student Council members will:
- Meet 2x a month on Tuesday evenings at Youth At The Center office in Downtown Cincinnati (500 Reading Road)
- Plan and regularly attend Monthly Events for LGBTQ+ and Supportive Youth
- Create social media content and marketing materials to promote events
- Develop skills to advocate for inclusive school policies at local school boards and statewide level
- Engage with youth throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
- Learn to work collaboratively with Student Council members and Community Members

Term and Compensation

Glisten Cincinnati Student Council Members will serve until Pride season in June 2027. Student Council Members will recieve a quarterly stipend/honorarium for their participation.
